Sociobiology holds that genetic factors are primary in the formation of social groups and sociality and the behavior displayed therein, including that of humans. There is a feedback loop between genetics and culture, but the loop is dominated by biological factors. The biologically evolved physical human form and cognitive structure of the brain are not only the base of human culture, but these factors also directly set and limit the variance of sociocultural expression. Sociobiology is closely related to the fields of evolutionary psychology and cultural evolution. Evolution is not to be confused or conflated with progress or moral superiority. Sociobiology maintains that human warfare has its origins in the biological evolution of human beings.
