Mate Selection

Mate selection is a construct that refers to the process of selecting a marital, lifelong, or breeding partner. There are many different methods in which one might proceed when aiming to select a mate. Some methods of mate selection are quite traditional, while others are only made possible with cutting edge technology, or recognized legally due to advances in emerging legislation. Often, an individual’s geographic location, culture, family traditions, and individual values impact how mate selection is achieved.
