Crisis Response Strategies

Crisis response strategies are purposeful actions taken to reduce the negative effects of a crisis for stakeholders affected by the crisis and for the organization in crisis. These include the words and actions managers employ in response to a crisis. Moreover, crisis response strategies are critical resources for limiting the negative effects of a crisis on corporate reputations. No organization is immune from crises. No matter how great an organization is, a crisis risk can suddenly escalate into a crisis. It is simply impossible to identify and eliminate every crisis risk an organization might encounter. Employees, customers, and products pose risks that managers must live with for the organization to exist. Therefore, managers should be well versed in crisis response strategies.
