Neo-traditional dances honor the spirit of a traditional dance but do not replicate the ritual or ceremony of which it is a part. Such dances are one step away from traditional dance forms and preserve information, rhythms, lyrics, movements, and patterns of the traditional dance forms. Thus, neo-traditional dance forms can be a great cultural resource as well as a link to a specific cultural heritage.
