Molefi Kete Asante Institute for African Studies

The Molefi Kete Asante Institute for Afrocentric Studies (MKA Institute) is the first and only internationally independent African think tank. It is a nonprofit, nonaligned public policy organization founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The MKA Institute’s foundation is that of Afrocentricity; the institute is devoted to studying, researching, exploring, and examining all issues from the perspective of African people as agents and subjects of human experience, as opposed to their being marginalized and viewed as objects and participants within the experiences of other cultures.
