Black Classic Press (BCP) is a Black-owned publishing company that has devoted the last 3.5 decades to publishing and republishing the works of authors who write nonfiction and fiction books dedicated to issues and people of African descent. The early development of the press benefited greatly from the wisdom and guidance of master teachers such as John Henrik Clarke, John G. Jackson, and Yoseph ben-Jochannan. Throughout the years and through various contributors, the name of founder W. Paul Coates has remained synonymous with the brand because of his dedication and the sacrifices that made his initial vision for BCP a lasting, impactful reality.
