Team Teaching
Team teaching is an approach to creating and facilitating a learning environment and process that is shared by two or more educators. Although the major responsibilities are similar to those for courses being taught by a single educator (e.g., planning, course design, development of syllabi, creation of lesson plans or content, presentation, interaction with learners, evaluation, etc.), sharing these functions offers benefits to learners and educators while also posing additional responsibilities and challenges.
Team teaching in a distributed learning environment sits at the intersection of two sets of concepts and methods: the attributes and processes of successful teams and those of effective distributed learning situations in which most of the interaction occurs using online tools.
