Huff, Marilyn M. (1951-)
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1951, Marilyn M. Huff studied for her bachelor's degree at Calvin College. Following her graduation in 1972, she pursued her J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School. Upon receiving her law degree in 1976, she moved to San Diego, California, to open her private law practice. On March 12, 1991, President George H. W. Bush nominated her to fill William B. Enright's vacated seat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The Senate confirmed her nomination on May 9, 1991, and she received her commission on May 14 of that year. In 1998 she began serving as chief judge and remains there to this day.
