Pfaelzer, Mariana R. (1926-)
Native Californian Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer was well established in a teaching career in the Los Angeles school system when she decided to make a career change. With a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a graduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, in political science, the field of law was an understandable choice.
After graduating from law school at UCLA in 1957, Pfaelzer went to work for Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel and helped the firm grow from only 5 attorneys to nearly 60 by the time of her departure as senior partner in 1978.
